botak jones..
didn't blog finish just now, but well it's 2 diff topic anyway.. after the youth peace lecture, went to clementi blk 325 to eat botak jones. supposedly to be an american western food, but seriously i dun think botak is an english word.. i suppose they use american style but use own name. anyway it's situated at the kopi tiam and their business is just scary la! long queue of ppl.. almost the whole coffee shop is eating from the store =_= dunno how others do biz. i mean when we go there e whole place is just full, which means unless ppl go there for botak jones, i dun think u will wait just to eat other stalls esp when there are more coffee shops across e road..

I will say the food is ok ba. fish n chips at $6 and chicken at $7 for regular. actually my chicken portion is small if u ask me; think on top got bbq sauce + cheese, dunno why it cool so fast such tt the melted cheese no longer taste as nice.. e fries are gd, cos they add some spicy powder on it; ok sometimes it feel more salty than spicy... strangely though the portion is not tt big except maybe e fries, i still feel rather full even till now..

Singapore Economy: The right options
went for the 7th youth peace lecture by Prof Lim Chong Yah, prof of NTU sch of humanities and social science today. rather interesting talk i will say, he know how to joke haha. what impress me is when he met Dr. Daisaku Ikeda, who asked him why he wanted to study economics, in which he replied, he wanted to know why poverty exist in this world and how he can eradicate poverty. This i feel is sth not all ppl can think of doing for society.

went dmkkai today after work; arrived at harbourfront and decided to go toilet which means turning left; and little did i expect an ambush happens. AGAIN..... yes those prudential ppl. gosh. 1 fated encounter is enuff ok? anyway as i say it happens again.
i really tried to avoid by walking faster. then i see the signal comes. yes i'm quite sure from e corner of my eyes i see some of e guys signal sth and then a ger approaches me...and u wun believe wad she say..
she said "i think i see u somewhere b4" ...=_=...for once i was stunned; i thought maybe she isn't an insurance agent n maybe i really did see her b4 =_=. then she asked e standard questions. zzz i must say i lousy at siam-ing la and hence e conversation ensued...

HSBC tree top walk!

poor driver? or poor passengers...
just came back from dmkkai for the zone friendship meeting next sun. feel revitalised after tt 1.5 hr of daimoku.. and of cos the testimonials i heard..
anyway was taking 913 back. then was going to alight liao. but the bus nv stop. but stopped at the traffic light infront. seriously if i'm not mistaken, NOBODY and i mean nobody pressed the bell, till the bus overshot. ppl are instead busy tapping their cards. zzz
then i heard someone, dunno who say .. sth sth 在睡觉啊。。。it could either be, the passenger scolding the driver, or driver scolding everyone. if it's the former, then poor driver. nobody press the bell but he got scolded. if it's the latter, ok the passengers are wrong, but technically, they are always right so they shdn't be scolded! but well, i think it's the poor driver...
i feel so sad, my bwp dun trust me. my fault for not going for the dinner lor.. ok la i shd have asked mr-v along, then maybe i wun be RAH-ed at... instead i might have gotten a free treat from each of them individually some other day... oh welll

a meaningful story
Dr. Arun Gandhi, grandson of Mahatma Gandhi and founder of the M.K.Gandhi Institute for Non-violence, in his June 9 lecture at the University of Puerto Rico, shared the following story:
I was 16 years old and living with my parents at the institute my grandfather had founded 18 miles outside of Durban, South Africa, in the middle of the sugar plantations. We were deep in the country and had no neighbors, so my two sisters and I would always look forward to going to town to visit friends or go to the movies. One day, my father asked me to drive him to town for an all-day conference, and I jumped at the chance. Since I was going to town, my mother gave me a list of groceries she needed and, since I had all day in town, my father asked me to take care of several pending chores, such as getting the car serviced. When I dropped my father off that morning, he said, "I will meet you here at 5:00 p.m., and we will go home together." After hurriedly completing my chores, I went straight to the nearest movie theatre. I got so engrossed in a John Wayne double-feature that I forgot the time. It was 5:30 before I remembered. By the time I ran to the garage and got the car and hurried to where my father was waiting for me, it was almost 6:00. He anxiously asked me, "Why were you late?" I was so ashamed of telling him I was watching a John Wayne western movie that I said, "The car wasn't ready, so I had to wait," not realizing that he had already called the garage. When he caught me in the lie, he said: "There's something wrong in the way I brought you up that didn't give you the confidence to tell me the truth. In order to figure out where I went wrong with you, I'm going to walk home 18 miles and think about it." So, dressed in his suit and dress shoes, he began to walk home in the dark on mostly unpaved, unlit roads. I couldn't leave him, so for five-and-a-half hours I drove behind him, watching my father go through this agony for a stupid lie that I uttered. I decided then and there that I was never going to lie again. I often think about that episode and wonder, if he had punished me the way we punish our children, whether I would have learned a lesson at all. I don't think so. I would have suffered the punishment and gone on doing the same thing. But this single non-violent action was so powerful that it is still as if it happened yesterday.
That is the power of non-violence.

what i did today.. woke up early today cos yday i basically did nth but played games. ok la, went out since 8 in e morning till evening to visit members but well i'm losing sense of direction..
and today i dunno what happened, i read like so damn freaking slow..
and i wanted to take a nap of 45 but end up become 2:45. =_=
and oh ya i rmb eating alot of lemon puff biscuits which are niceeee
last ago i think i posted sth on 2nd chances. Buddhism teaches abt cause and effect.. whatever one do, there will have an effect.. though its nv always apparent, but somehow the effect is there and will appears eventually.

where shd i start..
exam is approaching. though it's really just ONE paper but it's less than 2 weeks cos this paper just start early, during study week.. and i think i'm too slacked with that gaming almost every nite? yup and with the HV campaign coming along, time is a thing i need since i've less time than other ppl already.
of cos i can choose the slack approach for the paper, since it's just open book and i do wonder if effort necessary = results. or maybe i shd wonder if i heading towards the correct direction 1st. well things need to be done.
10 days, 1 down, how many can i visit, maybe i just need the correct mindset..

and because of this pain, it affect me in too many ways, really need to recover asap. and ya i got a irritating sore throat. really 祸不单行。。

and because of this pain, it affect me in too many ways, really need to recover asap. and ya i got a irritating sore throat. really 祸不单行。。
